Dana Anne Yee Biography

Dana Anne Yee, ASLA, CA ISA, Leed AP

Dana Anne Yee, Landscape Architect, LLC.

Lucky and blessed is what I feel to have found a profession that I have passion for! As a Landscape Architect, I am able to artistically share my love for Hawai'i and its people through the designs of many gardens and outdoor spaces.

I began my journey with the excitement of being accepted into the coveted Landscape Architecture Program at the University of California at Davis. I had a little taste of working in my field as an intern for the City and County of Honolulu, General Planning Department and the City of Sacramento, Landscape Architecture Department. With a Landscape Architecture degree in hand, I started working in Sacramento, California with my fellow graduates at the Hablitzel Landscape Architectural Group. After working an enjoyable 2 years I headed home to Hawai'i. I worked for a Landscape Architecture firm, Walters, Kimura and Associates. Then I started my own firm, Dana Anne Yee, Landscape Architect, LLC.

I have enjoyed working with many great clients on many fine commercial, government, public, private and residential projects. I have been thrilled to be recognized by my peers with numerous American Society of Landscape Architectural Awards, a Building Industry of Hawai'i Award and many Betty Crocker Landscape Awards sponsored by Scenic Hawai'i. I had the honor of being accepted in the Artist of Hawai'i show on 2 occasions, had a one person photographic art show at the Academy of Arts and have been accepted in many other art shows. Mainly, I have been most rewarded by the many happy clients, students and people who I have worked with throughout my career.

It has been an honor and pleasure to serve on the Friends of Honolulu Botanical Gardens as the President of the Board and on the Board of Directors for 10 years.

I am happy to share my knowledge and skills with the Botanical Gardens to help to keep our beautiful public gardens flourishing for all of Hawai'i to enjoy and share for many generations. Just think, how lucky we are to live in a state where our gardens are in the middle of the city.

I can remember when I was very young, I had visited the gardens with my beautiful mom and looked at the Friends of Honolulu Botanical Garden's bulletin board on the office wall . It seemed like an unattainable, impossible goal at that time, that when I grew up I would be part of the group that helped to make the gardens flourish.

And now, I am happy to be a part of keeping our beautiful flowering, lush, green Honolulu Botanical Gardens growing.
